Offline promotion in simple terms means that........ "You must tell your potential customers where they can find you AND give them a compelling reason for doing business with you."

Following is a sampling of the possibilities that can be used for this purpose:

1. Distribute a press release detailing the latest breakthrough in your business field, available only at your place of business.

2. Place an add in your local yellow pages publication.

3. Send everyone in your zip code a postcard announcing a sale at your place of business.

4. Become the local expert in your business field by being interviewed on the radio.

5. Give a speech at the Chamber of Commerce.

I hope its clear now

We use business cards whenever we want to target-market homes or individuals. I can hold my own hand for the design — kludgey but proficient — so we can turn a new set of cards around in 48 hours or less. They’re inexpensive to buy, to ship and to distribute, so we can put 1,000, 2,000, 5,000 cards on the street in no time at all.

I think this is a fantastic idea. In cost-benefit terms, the business card form factor may be the perfect print ad medium

That may be, but be careful: Since it is cheap and easy make sure you don't over-saturate. I personally get a business card from a real estate agent about once a week and it's pissing me off. If and when I decide to sell I will NOT use this agent.

Be warned
