Use of images:  Like the axiom says, a picture is worth a thousand words.  When it comes to web design, this is could not be truer.  The big difference with here is that you have to choose your images carefully, in effect choosing which 1000 words you are relating to your viewer.  If the image cannot be tied directly to information contained within the body of the site; if it does not represent something harmonious, it will create an incongruity which will prompt at click of the back button.
