Real Estate Listing Script VS. Real Estate CMS

As with everything, language plays a very important role in defining our world.  As real estate becomes a hot bed for software development, the lines between a traditional real estate script and a real estate cms begin to blur.  So lets take it back to the day when scripts were scripts and a cms was a cms.

In the beginning there were fully custom coded websites.  Few could master the skills to put up these hardcore sites.  Those who could code, coded and made tons of money doing it.   Along the way, someone got wise and thought…there must be an easier way and the script was born.

Technically a script is a bit of code that automates a function within a website.  It’s a handler of information.  So now, people with limited coding knowledge could use scripts made by experts to up the quality of their sites.

This lead to a whole new level of web development.  Again, from the fray, came a voice...’there must be an easier way.’  Why script only parts of a site when we can automate everything?  And so born was the cms.

A CMS is a content management system.  In broad terms, a cms is collection scripts that take over the automation of almost every aspect of a website.

So real estate listing script vs.  real estate cms?

Well, if you have coding skill and time to invest in making a real estate listing script work for your site, then it is worth it.  If you want to handle one aspect of a real estate site like real estate listings, then a real estate listing script is for you.

However, if you want to have a completely automate real estate website that gives you professional results, powerful lead generation tools and search engine friendly content, chances are a real estate listing script is not for you.
