If you own a real estate website you need to find a way to monetize it. If you are selling or renting properties there is the obvious commission you will receive during the rental or sale, so this article will not use that as an example. However, we have 5 other ideas you can use to help you get thinking about other ways to monetize your real estate website. Let’s start with the easiest and most obvious. Sell advertising space on your site. Selling advertising space on your real estate website is easier than you think. You can use a broker company such as Google Adsense to put up auto-generated and related advertisers on your website. This can help monetize some of your internal article pages. I was using a basic advertising system on one of my real estate websites that received about 10,000 uniques / month and the advertisements brought in about $800/ month. Two: you could sell featured listings or basic listings to FSBO sellers or agents. You could build your website to benefit from the need of home sellers to display their properties online. As long as you can build the traffic to the site, you can offer hosting options from $10 to $500 each, depending on the property placement and traffic. Three: You could sell and ebook or an e-report on your site. For example, if your website focuses on Real Estate In London, you could offer an ebook that informs your site visitors of everything they need to know about the London real estate market. You can tell them about foreign investment, give them neighborhood information, include pictures and much more. As an owner of numerous ebook sites, I know you can make over $2000/ month selling relevant ebooks to your site visitors. Four: You can put up affiliate marketing links to related sites. For instance, if your site is about global real estate, you could put “expatriate ebooks” links on your site to a company that such material that you are an affiliate for. As an affiliate for related companies I have been able to make between $250 to $1200 per month. Five: Consider creating business partnerships with companies. You can either post some form of classified section on your site which they pay to become members of, or post their banner advertisements on your site. The other option is to offer reciprocal advertising options. Give them advertising space on your site, in exchange for the same from them.
