Linking: A powerful real estate marketing tool

One of the most powerful real estate marketing tools around are one way, inbound links.  Search engines gauge a sites popularity on two things, content and inbound links. Inbound links being more of a direct real estate marketing tool.  Search engines figure that the more sites that link, one way, to another the more popular it is.  They reason that sites with many inbound, one way links offer content that those linking to them find helpful, informative or important and thus, rank them higher.

The means to capitalize on this real estate marketing tool is straight forward.  In phase one, contact web masters with similar, yet not directly competing sites and request a link exchange.  Be clear and concise about your intentions and try to keep each point of contact as unique as possible.

As your site begins to reap the rewards of two way link exchanges, others will begin to link to your site.  Further, you can contact the same web masters from phase one and make other arrangements. For example, offering something in return for taking their link down from your site (thus making it a one way link).

The goal of course is to have as few links pointing off  your site and as many pointing towards your site as possible.    This process can take time and involves some effort, but this particular real estate marketing tool offers much in the way of returns.  A quick look around the top ten of any search term will be a clear indication that inbound links play a vital role in real estate marketing.
